SMSWeather is a free text-message weather service for the United States. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how to get rid of it.

What we collect

From the signup form: your name and mobile number, plus your email address and default location if you choose to give them.
Consent record: the wording of the consent checkbox you agreed to, and the date and time you agreed.
From your texts: the content of messages you send the service — a place name, ZIP, airport code, or GPS coordinates — which we process to answer them.

What we use it for

Knowing your number is allowed to use the service.
Texting you back with the weather you asked for.
Contacting you about your access, if you gave us an email address.

Locations may be cached briefly to avoid repeating the same lookup. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not track you across other sites.

What we never do

Your information is never sold, rented, or traded. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Nothing is shared beyond the messaging and weather providers required to deliver a reply to you, or with law enforcement where we are legally required to do so.

How long we keep it

Your record is kept until you ask us to remove it. Message content is used to generate a reply and is not retained for any other purpose.

Removing your information

Reply STOP to any message, or email help@smsweather.online, and your record is deleted. Replying STOP also stops all messages from the service immediately; START opts you back in.

Children

SMSWeather is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

This policy may change. The current version always lives on this page.
